Droog Pencil Sharpener

This product is an exploration in communication through material selection, manufacturing process, and form. This Droog inspired object simplifies the form of the pencil sharpener to an absurdly simple rectangular prism, and juxtaposes it with overwhelming opulence of an exotic material. Milling, a bizarre manufacturing process for this product, was a deliberate attempt to delight a viewer with knowledge of machining. When closed the box has only two clues as to its purpose, a small hole and a crank.
